CVE-2024-44411Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated OS command execution via unfiltered cmd

Published Sep 9, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Command injection in D-Link DI-8300 16.07.26A1 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through msp_info.htm. The msp_info_htm handler reads the flag and cmd query parameters, concatenates cmd into a shell command without filtering metacharacters, and passes it to system(). Administrative session cookies are required by the published proof of concept, and successful exploitation runs commands with the firmware process privileges.
