CVE-2024-44410Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote command execution via unfiltered path parameter

Published Sep 9, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Command injection in DI-8300 firmware 16.07.26A1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted request. The upgrade_filter_asp handler checks only whether the GET path value begins with http://, appends the unfiltered remainder to a command, and passes it to system(). The published proof supplies an administrator cookie, although the official CVSS assessment rates exploitation as requiring no privileges; successful exploitation runs commands with the appliance process privileges.
