CVE-2024-44342Network attack vector

Remote command execution via crafted wireless SSID value

Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024

OS command injection in D-Link DIR-846W Firmware A1 FW100A43 allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted POST request. The wireless-setting path accepts the wl(0).(0)_ssid value, but the public report does not identify the handler or disclose how that value reaches a shell command without neutralization. Public assessments disagree on the gate: NVD treats the request as unauthenticated, while CISA-ADP requires low privileges; successful exploitation controls commands executed by the router.
