CVE-2024-44335Public exploit

Authenticated root command execution via path injection

Published Sep 9, 2024 · Updated Sep 9, 2024

Command injection in affected D-Link DI-7000-series firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via version_upgrade.asp. The jhttpd handler filters only ampersands, pipes, and semicolons from the path parameter before passing a constructed command to jhl_system, leaving backticks and $() effective. Exploitation requires administrator login to the web interface and grants the resulting command the firmware system's highest privileges.
