CVE-2024-44299Network attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via inadequate bounds checks

Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026

Memory safety flaw in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 18.1 and macOS before 15.1 allows attackers to crash systems or execute code in DCP firmware. Apple identifies inadequate bounds checking in IOMobileFrameBuffer but has not disclosed the affected operation, attacker-controlled input, or firmware memory path. Published scoring treats exploitation as network-reachable without privileges but requiring user interaction; successful code execution is confined to DCP firmware.
