Use-after-free in IOSurface in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 18.1 allows local users to terminate the system or corrupt kernel memory. The same lifetime-management flaw affects macOS before 15.1, tvOS before 18.1, visionOS before 2.1, and watchOS before 11.1; Apple has not disclosed the affected function or object lifecycle. Exploitation requires execution of an app on the device, and successful triggering causes a crash or kernel-memory corruption rather than a remotely initiated compromise.
