Symlink handling in CoreMedia Playback in Apple operating systems allows local users to access private information through a malicious app. CoreMedia Playback improperly resolves attacker-controlled symbolic links during file access, allowing the app to reach private data outside its intended path. Exploitation requires execution of a malicious app and user interaction; the reported consequence excludes integrity and availability impact.
