Authorization flaw in Apple macOS Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia allows local users to modify protected file-system areas via a malicious app. PackageKit performs insufficient checks during a privileged file-system operation, but Apple has not disclosed the affected routine, input, or failed authorization condition. Execution of a malicious local application and user interaction are required; successful exploitation permits writes only to otherwise protected file-system locations.
