App termination via ICC profile parser overwrite
Published Oct 28, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Apple macOS sips allows attackers to terminate the app by processing a maliciously crafted file. The ICC profile parser fails to validate user-supplied profile data before writing past the end of an allocated buffer. Affected systems run Ventura before 13.7.1, Sonoma before 14.7.1, or Sequoia before 15.1; exploitation requires a target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
