CVE-2024-44192Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via detached render-tree cleanup

Published Mar 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Denial of service in Apple Safari and operating systems before their 2024 major releases allows remote attackers to crash a WebKit process. When CSS ruby-block continuations create a detached render subtree, RenderTreeBuilder::destroyAndCleanUpAnonymousWrappers traverses it and dereferences a null parent. A target must process attacker-controlled web content, and successful exploitation terminates the affected WebKit process without reported data disclosure or code execution.
