CVE-2024-44156

Privacy bypass via privileged path deletion

Published Oct 28, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026

Path deletion in Apple macOS PackageKit allows local users to bypass Privacy preferences on vulnerable Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia releases. The vulnerable PackageKit code performs a path deletion while running with privileges; Apple has not disclosed the affected function or validation failure.
