Cross-user favorite modification via unchecked RFC authorization
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Missing authorization in SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP allows remote authenticated users to alter other users' workplace favorites. An RFC-enabled function module accepts a target user and workbook without enforcing authorization for the target user's workplace. Low-privilege access is sufficient, exposing valid usernames and workplace information while permitting unauthorized favorite-list changes.
