Authenticated workplace favorites modification via missing authorization
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Missing authorization in SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP and ABAP Platform allows remote authenticated users to alter other users' workplace favorites. An RFC-enabled function module fails to restrict the target user when adding a supplied URL to workplace favorites; SAP has not publicly named the module. A low-privileged SAP account is sufficient; abuse identifies usernames and reveals workplace and node metadata while changing only favorites.
