Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published May 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Justin Klein WP-ViperGB 1.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to change plugin settings. The settings-saving path accepts a state-changing request without requiring or correctly validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to submit the forged request, such as by following an attacker-controlled link, and the documented consequence is limited to plugin-setting changes.
