Cross-site scripting via GeneratorFunction macro sandbox escape

Published Sep 9, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Cross-site scripting in ONLYOFFICE Docs before 8.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted macro. The macro sandbox fails to contain an immediately invoked function expression that reaches the GeneratorFunction constructor, enabling dynamic code execution. A user must open the attacker-controlled document and execute its macro; the resulting script can read or alter data accessible to that editor session.
