CVE-2024-44083Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via unbounded jump-chain analysis

Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Resource exhaustion in Hex-Rays IDA Pro 8.4 and earlier allows attackers to crash IDA when a malicious binary is opened. ida64.dll analyzes a section containing an excessive chain of linked jumps without limiting the work, ending at a jump into the entry-point payload. The demonstrated x86-64 PE file must be opened for analysis; the reported consequence is process termination, not code execution or data compromise.
