Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped gallery attributes
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Jordy Meow Meow Gallery 5.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through data_atts. The shortcode renderer in classes/core.php places the data_atts value into generated gallery markup without sufficient sanitization or attribute escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload in a page, and the script executes in the browser of anyone who views that page.
