Stored XSS via unescaped widget description
Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in dmonnier CSSable Countdown 1.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in visitors' browsers. The widget's Event Description setting stores injected script markup and later renders it on the site frontend without sanitization or output escaping. Administrator-level access is required, but the issue remains exploitable when unfiltered_html is disabled, including on multisite deployments.
