Kernel heap disclosure and corruption via unbounded loop
Published Aug 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds writes in Linux kernel 6.4 through 6.6.43 and 6.7 through 6.10.2 allow local users to read kernel heap data. In iio_gts_build_avail_time_table, a zero integration time keeps the insertion condition true while idx advances, causing repeated memmove calls beyond the allocated times array. The corruption occurs during affected IIO driver probing; a world-readable sysfs attribute exposes resulting heap data, while the runaway writes can panic or hang the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
