Local service interruption via unchecked allocation failure
Published Aug 17, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux kernel 6.2 through 6.6.43 and 6.7 through 6.10.2 allows local users to interrupt service via lpfc sysfs. lpfc_xcvr_data_show does not test kmalloc's rdp_context result before passing it to routines that dereference the pointer. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, an lpfc adapter exposing the sysfs entry, and a failed allocation; the resulting kernel OOPS interrupts service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
