Cross-site scripting via linked directory redirects
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Express.js serve-static before 1.16.0 and 2.0.0 before 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script via redirects. The createRedirectDirectoryListener function places an escaped, attacker-influenced redirect location into an HTML anchor, leaving the destination active as a clickable browser URL. Exploitation requires control of the redirect input, delayed redirect completion, and a user click; successful execution affects the user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
