Authenticated directory creation via missing administrator check
Published Sep 2, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Path traversal in advplyr Audiobookshelf before 2.13.0 allows remote authenticated users to create directories via the library API. LibraryController.create copies the request body, accepts attacker-controlled folder fullPath values, and creates the library without an administrator check. Any non-admin account, including a guest with no permissions, can make the server write folders anywhere its process account can access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
