Stored XSS via script-bearing iframe data URLs
Published Sep 2, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Halo before 2.17.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a user's browser through crafted editor content. The editor permits an iframe whose data URL embeds script-bearing HTML, and the saved content later renders that script without neutralization. Exploitation requires a user to view the stored page; the script runs in that viewer's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
