Local privilege escalation via overlay-accepted taps
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Clickjacking in Android DocumentsUI 12, 12L, 13, 14, and 15 allows local users to obtain folder access through a deceptive overlay. DocumentsUI's BaseActivity and ConfirmFragment windows accept taps while obscured because they do not set the hide-overlay-windows flag. Exploitation requires User-level code to display an overlay and user interaction with the obscured picker, granting access to a chosen folder.
