CVE-2024-43689

Adjacent code execution via common.cgi buffer overflow

Published Oct 21, 2024 · Updated Sep 4, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in common.cgi in affected ELECOM wireless access points allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTTP requests. The CGI handler improperly processes an HTTP input value into a stack buffer without enforcing its bounds. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must reach the appliance from an adjacent network; successful exploitation grants arbitrary code execution.
