CVE-2024-43686

Browser script execution via unsanitized chart request

Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024

Reflected XSS in Microchip TimeProvider 4100 before 2.4.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser. The get_chart_data handler reflects insufficiently sanitized request parameters into a data-plot web response, allowing supplied script content to execute in a user context. Exploitation requires access to the physically separate management port and user interaction; timing service ports are unaffected.
