CVE-2024-43685Network attack vector

Session hijacking via reusable pre-login cookie

Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2025

Session fixation in Microchip TimeProvider 4100 before 2.4.7 allows remote attackers to hijack WebGUI user sessions. The login module leaves an obtained pre-login cookie usable as a valid session token after authentication instead of securely replacing it. Exploitation requires access to the physically separate management port, possession of a pre-login cookie, and a user session; timing service ports are unaffected.
