CVE-2024-43631

Administrator-to-SYSTEM privilege elevation

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Elevation of privilege in Secure Kernel Mode in Microsoft Windows affected builds allows local users with administrator privileges to gain SYSTEM access. Microsoft maps the flaw to untrusted pointer dereference but has not disclosed the code locus, attacker-controlled pointer source, or triggering operation. Exploitation requires local administrative access; successful use crosses the Secure Kernel boundary and grants SYSTEM-level control.
