CVE-2024-43626Public exploit

SYSTEM privilege escalation via unterminated registry value

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows Telephony Service allows local users to execute code as SYSTEM through a registry value. GetPriorityList reads the user-controlled RequestMakeCall value into a heap buffer and passes it to _wcsupr without ensuring null termination, causing reads and writes beyond the allocation. Low-privileged local access is required; successful exploitation yields SYSTEM privileges.
