Local privilege escalation via kernel integer overflow
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Integer overflow in the Microsoft Windows NT OS kernel allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on affected Windows systems. The affected kernel calculation can wrap an integer, but Microsoft has not disclosed its function, attacker-controlled input, or execution path. Local low-privileged access is required; successful exploitation grants SYSTEM privileges without user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
