Authenticated file read via unvalidated SVG path
Published Aug 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Arbitrary file read in BdThemes Element Pack 5.7.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files through the SVG widget. The render_svg function accepts an attacker-controlled SVG path without sufficient file validation and reads its contents for inline rendering. Contributor-level WordPress access is required, and exposed files can disclose configuration secrets or other sensitive server data.
