CVE-2024-43582Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via RDP use-after-free

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Protocol Server allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted RDP traffic. Microsoft identifies the faulty operation as reuse of freed memory but has not disclosed the responsible function or exact object-lifetime error. Exploitation requires network reachability to an enabled RDP server and a high-complexity condition that Microsoft has not described.
