CVE-2024-43552

Code execution via undisclosed use-after-free

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Shell allows local users to execute arbitrary code after successful user interaction. Microsoft identifies the weakness as use-after-free but has not published the affected Shell object, code path, or operation that accesses freed memory. Successful exploitation requires low-privileged local access and user interaction and permits code execution with the affected user's privileges.
