CVE-2024-43483Network attack vector

Service interruption via hostile-input hash flooding

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Hash-flooding denial of service in Microsoft .NET, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio allows remote attackers to interrupt applications. The System.Security.Cryptography.Cose, System.IO.Packaging, and Microsoft.Extensions.Caching.Memory libraries process hostile input with hash-table behavior that permits collision-heavy values to consume excessive resources. An unauthenticated network path must pass attacker-controlled input into an affected library, and the bounded consequence is service interruption.
