A TOCTOU race condition in the Windows Registry allows remote attackers to elevate privileges across affected Windows releases. Microsoft identifies CWE-367 but has not published the registry operation whose security check and later use can be raced. Successful exploitation requires user interaction and grants elevated privileges; Microsoft has not specified the resulting privilege level.
