NTLMv2 hash disclosure via crafted URL file

NTLM hash disclosure in Microsoft Windows allows remote attackers to capture a user's NTLMv2 hash through a crafted URL file. Windows Explorer processes an Internet Shortcut containing a file:// target and initiates outbound SMB authentication during interactions such as right-clicking, moving, or deleting the file. User interaction with the file is required, and the captured hash enables authentication attempts as the affected user.
