CVE-2024-43447Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via SMBv3 double free

Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

A double-free flaw in the SMBv3 server component of Windows Server 2022 before build 10.0.20348.2849 allows remote attackers to execute code. Microsoft identifies the weakness as double free but has not disclosed the affected function, packet field, or sequence that causes memory to be freed twice. Exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction but depends on high-complexity conditions; success grants attacker-controlled code execution on the server.
