Ticket status manipulation via missing write authorization
Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Improper privilege management in OTRS Generic Interface allows remote authenticated users with read-only access to change ticket status. The Generic Interface authorization path accepts a ticket-status change without enforcing the caller's write permission. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and user interaction, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized modification of ticket workflow state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
