Password disclosure via unredacted authentication debugging logs
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
Sensitive-data exposure in OTRS and OTRS Community Edition allows attackers to read agent and customer passwords from admin logs. Authentication backend debugging writes supplied credentials to the Admin Log Module without redaction when affected authentication-source configurations are used. Exposure requires backend debugging and a matching authentication-source configuration, and the resulting log entries disclose reusable credentials to anyone able to view the administrative log.
