Authentication bypass via fixed default JWT secret
Published Dec 24, 2024 · Updated Dec 31, 2024
Authentication bypass in Apache HugeGraph-Server before 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to access protected APIs with forged JWTs. AuthOptions assigns every installation the same default HS256 token secret, allowing attacker-signed tokens to pass TokenGenerator verification. When authentication is enabled and that default remains in use, a forged administrator token grants access to protected graph data and operations.
