PIN protection disablement via missing nonce validation
Published Jun 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Shield Security 19.1.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to disable its Security Admin PIN protection. The exec action in SecurityAdminRemove accepts a forged administrative request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link, after which the plugin's settings lose PIN protection.
