Unauthorized Quiz override changes via missing access checks
Published Nov 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Improper access control in affected Moodle LMS releases allows remote attackers to alter Quiz overrides through the external API. The external Quiz override methods accept override changes without enforcing sufficient access-control checks. No prior privileges or user interaction are required, and the bounded consequence is unauthorized modification of quiz settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <4.1.12
- Affected versionversion=4.2 <4.2.9
- Affected versionversion=4.3 <4.3.6
