Cross-site scripting via unnormalized version responses
Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024
Cross-site scripting in CKSource CKEditor 4 4.22.0 through 4.24.0-lts allows attackers to execute script via version notifications. The version-check code retained latestVersion and secureVersion values from cke4.ckeditor.com and inserted the raw strings into notification, console, and dialog messages. Exploitation requires version notifications, user interaction, and attacker control of that domain; injected script runs in the embedding page's origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
