Firewall reconfiguration via injected source-address value
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2025
Code injection in Phoenix Contact mGuard firmware before 8.9.3 or 10.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to reconfigure firewall services. The firmware uses the FW_PORTFORWARDING.SRC_IP environment value when generating firewall configuration without neutralizing attacker-controlled input. Low-privileged access is sufficient to alter packet filters, forwarding, access control, or NAT, causing a service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
