CVE-2024-43367Network attack vector

Application crash via AsyncGenerator then getter state change

Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024

Denial of service in Boa 0.16 through 0.18 allows remote attackers to crash applications that execute supplied ECMAScript code. The AsyncGenerator promise-resolution path assumes generator state cannot change, but a crafted promise then getter reenters the engine and changes that state before an assertion checks it. Exposure requires an application to execute untrusted ECMAScript; the failed assertion escapes as an uncaught exception that can terminate the hosting process.
