Stored XSS via unsanitized external-link URL
Published Oct 7, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Stored XSS in Cacti before 1.2.28 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through an external link. The external-link workflow saves the fileurl parameter without proper sanitization, and link.php and index.php insert it into iframe HTML passed to print. Exploitation requires permission to create external links and a victim to open the main console or saved link, enabling actions in that victim's Cacti session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
