Server-side PHP execution via traversed template name
Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Path traversal in WPDeveloper EmbedPress 4.0.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute server-side PHP through local file inclusion. EmbedpressSettings.php's render_settings_page reads the page_type URL parameter into a template name that main-template.php passes to include_once without rejecting ../ traversal. A crafted request must reach the WordPress administration dashboard in an authenticated administrator's session; inclusion executes only an existing PHP file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
