Subscriber-level note deletion via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Jamie Bergen Plugin Notes Plus 1.2.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary notes. The AJAX handler pnp_delete_response() processes note-deletion requests without checking the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to erase plugin notes from the site's custom notes table; no broader content deletion is established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
