Administrator color-mode change via forged request
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in Naiche Dark Mode for WP Dashboard 1.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to change an administrator's color mode. The dark_mode_dashboard_change_user_profile_mode() handler accepts a profile-mode request without validating a WordPress nonce. An administrator must remain signed in and be induced to submit the forged request; the reported consequence is limited to changing that user's display preference.
