Subscriber-level plugin installation via missing capability check
Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Migrate Clone 2.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to install a backup plugin. The wpa_wpc_ajax_install_new() AJAX handler performs the installation operation without checking the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; the bounded consequence is unauthorized installation of a backup plugin.
